Sony has announced two new camcorders and two new decks in their professional XDCAM line of camcorders.
The camera allow recording in 18 Mbps, 25 Mbps, and 35 Mbps at 1080i resolution. Frame rates are variable from 4 fps to 60 fps. Each camcorder uses three half-inch, 1.5 megapixel CCD sensors to capture light data. Sony’s Professional Disc Media is used as the recording medium and allows 85 minutes of recording time at 25 Mbps.
The new decks allow upconversion of SD content as well as downconversion of HD footage. For more info read the full press release:
