genImage.aspx.jpgWe might be getting somewhere with Blu-Ray discs finally. Sony has set prices on Blu-Ray discs that are going to be in U.S. stores sometime this year. New-release discs will wholesale for $23.45, while run-of-the-mill movies will wholesale at $17.95. The story cites an early summer release of the discs in stores, but don’t hold your breath.

Also, Sony is going to try a new strategy of bundling UMDs with DVDs. Universal Media Disc is Sony’s proprietary format that plays on the Playstation Portable. Check out the Reuters story for more information.
