chromakey_final_result.jpgI cannot wait to try chromakeying with HD footage, but until then I and many of you will be stuck with trying to get a usable key out of DV footage. It can be a doozie… Thankfully, Charlie White has written a tutorial on how to get the best possible key out of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. He gives some lighting tips, which is the most important aspect of any keying operation, and then goes into detail on using Premiere’s “Chroma Key” effect.

Personally (with no offense meant to Mr. White, who writes some very good articles), I’ve seen better tutorials on keying and wouldn’t be caught dead using Adobe Premiere’s built-in key effect, but if you are a beginner, in need of a refresher course, or can’t spend money on the keying plugins available out there, then you should take a look.

Read the tutorial.
