cameron.JPGJames Cameron, director of such favorites as The Terminator and Titanic, has decided to take movie-making to a whole new level. Cameron has decided to make his current project, Project 880, into a MMOG (massively multiplayer online game) before releasing the corresponding film.

“So much of literary sci-fi is about creating worlds that are rich and detailed and make sense at a social level,” Cameron says. “We’ll create a world for people and then later present a narrative in that world”

Movies like Star Wars have spawned MMOGs, but never has an MMOG been released before the movie. If this idea works, Cameron could get people addicted to his movie before it even comes out.
