Canopus has announced the MVRD4400, adding to their hardware MPEG encoders/decoders. It allows for realtime MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 encoding and decoding. It is meant mostly for OEMS and custom systems, and a software development kit is included for developers.
MVRD4400’s powerful pre-filtering features include advanced 3D Y/C separation to reduce color noise and improve image quality, 3D digital noise reduction to eliminate noise in the analog video signal, a line time base corrector (LTBC) to correct video images that jitter, as well as frame synchronization and auto gain control. MVRD4400 also allows for display of the multiple-input screens when using multiple MVRD4400 boards.
