Boris FX has announced that a public beta of their new software application, Boris Blue, is now available on their website. Boris Blue is a 3D compositing and motion graphics solution based on their previous software, Boris Red. It includes much of the same functionality plus additional features such as real-time parameter adjustment, extensive particle effects solutions, and image processors for work such as keying, distortions, and transitions. Boris Blue also supports importing files saved in other popular 3D formats.
The beta will be available until April 1st, so get it while you still can. After that, you can expect it to ship sometime in the second quarter. The price will be $1,995 US, making the beta that much more valuable. Also, if you are planning on attending NAB 2006, you can stop by their booth (SL2596) and take a peek at the full version.
