Toshiba is now officially the first to launch and sell an HD-DVD player. The HD-XA1 is only available in Japan, and for the exorbitant price of $795. Dual layer, 30GB, HD-DVDs are supported, as well as 1080i and 720p. Copies of Resident Evil and Moonlight Jellyfish are included so that you won’t have to worry about finding something to watch. So now that Japan has HD-DVD players it’s only a matter of years before the U.S. gets them, right?
