I knew about this a long time ago, but I totally forgot to post it, so here you go. You might remember all the hub-bub that surrounded the Million Dollar Homepage a while ago. This was the project a college student put together to raise money for his tuition. He sold 1,000,000 pixels on his homepage to advertisers for a dollar a piece. Well, a whole bunch of clones sprang up and one of them was the Million Dollar Movie Project. These guys are selling associate producer and executive producer spots on their movie for $5 and $10 apiece, respectively.
Along with trying to break out of the system Hollywood has going of reliance on big studio production, they are trying to break the record for most producers of a single movie, which would probably also mean the record for the longest credit roll. They’ve haven’t raised too much for their cause in the 6 weeks they’ve been up, and I doubt they will reach their goal, but they seem determined.
