If you’re looking for a DIY stabilizer, but didn’t like the $40 DIY steadicam, MakeZine has another option. The DIY “Fig Rig” made from PVC, clocking in at $10. This is based off of Manrotto’s Fig Rig, which goes for around $300. Obviously the DIY fig rig isn’t going to make you look like you’re on the set of a new Stephen Spielberg film, but for those on the “Aco Taco and bring-your-own-drinks” movie budget this could be the way to go.
