bestbuyhddvd.jpgMake sure you head down to your local Best Buy to check out the new Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD player on display. If you’re into the latest and greatest gadgets, the $499 price tag really isn’t all that bad. Now all you’ll have to do is endure the inevitable war that will be waged between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. Beta vs. VHS ring a bell, anyone?

The HD-A1 outputs HD video via HDMI or component and will upconvert your soon-to-be vintage DVDs along with playing HD-DVDs. It also includes two USB ports and built-in 10/100 Mbps ethernet. Fun times…

CNET posted their HD-A1 review recently if you want to know what they thought of it. You can read the review here.
