Donnie Darko is definitely one of my favorite movies, and if you haven’t seen it, you’d better go out and rent it right now! For those of you who have seen the movie, you need to check out the post entitled “88 Reasons to Watch Donnie Darko Again” at The Torture Garden. The first two reasons are vaguely reminiscent of an episode of ABC’s Lost:

The movie takes place in 1988. Frank tells Donnie the world will end in 28 days, 06 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. If you add these numbers, the sum is 88.02. [numbers]
Rose Darko says that she and Samantha are taking the “red-eye” back to Middlesex. According to the airport announcement, they are flying on flight 2806, boarding at gate 42, and departing at 12:00 AM.
In all seriousness, this is a great movie that deserves to be seen. Also, it’s much better to watch the original version first for the effect, and then buy the director’s cut for more explanations.
