Just in time for Easter, JVC Japan has announced two new colors for its GR-D650 digital camcorder, which will be available middle of May. Surprise your honey during the Easter egg hunt with these new gems in “Powder Pink” and “Aqua Blue.” Actually, it looks like the marketing strategy right now is for parents of new children, since the words “Baby Movie” are tacked all over their Japanese website. There is no word yet whether or not this camcorder will make it to the U.S., but I think I’ve seen it on preorder somewhere. There are also a couple of unique features on this camcorder.

The GR-D650 features a 15x zoom, 1.33 CCD, 540 lines of resolution, and 3D Digital Noise Reduction. There are a couple of other interesting features on this camcorder as well. Opening the LCD screen effectively powers it on and off, or at least puts it in standby mode. There is a slow-motion button that, when pressed, records the next second or so of video in slow-motion while retaining real-time audio. Once the slow-motion clip is done playing, it reverts back to real-time video, so you get a slight jump in playback.

I also just noticed that they are offering the Everios in the same two colors, plus one called “herb green.”
