xpapple.jpgFollowing in the footsteps of comparing the MacBook Pro to a G5 desktop system, DMN is now benchmarking a MacBook Pro running Windows XP versus regular PCs. Tests were done using Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator to compare relative render times amongst about seven different systems (4 Macs and 3 PCs). Interestingly enough, the MacBook Pro really held its own throughout the tests, and once again this really bodes well for dual-boot systems from Apple.

I could go on and on, but I think this line from the article really sums it up quite well:

… the result is that not only does cross-platform software running under Windows on the MacBook hold up against G5 desktop systems, but it also hold [sic] up against multi-processor Xeon and Opteron systems as well.

That’s pretty scary for a laptop.

Yes … it is, but it’s a happy kind of scary.
