wilife.jpgRadioshack has announced that it will now be carrying WiLife’s LukWerks Digital Video Surveillance Camera Systems on their website and at around 2,500 locations nationwide. LukWerks surveillance cameras use HomePlug technology, which transmits signals through your home’s existing electrical wires. No more need for expensive cables running every which way in your house.

Up to six cameras can be used at one time, and setup is as simple as mounting the cameras to just about any surface and plugging them in. The images are then transmitted over the electrical wires to the PC, where software allows full management of the system as well as recording while still allowing regular use of the PC.

Remote observation is available anywhere with a network connection, and support for Windows Mobile phones and Pocket PCs is featured as well. User-definable cell phone and email alerts are also available, and let users be notified when motion occurs in a camera’s view.

The LukWerks starter kit runs $299 and includes one camera, a receiver, mounts for window, wall, or desk, and software. Additional cameras (up to 6 total) will cost $229 each.
