Looks like Red Digital Cinema is getting ready for a big unveiling at NAB 2006. Their website has been updated with a countdown to the show. The RED digital camcorder is supposed to be the camera to rule all other cameras when it comes to features, flexibility, and affordibility. Last I heard it is going to support everything from SD to HD to 2K to 4K digital formats. If it lives up to everything it’s been promising this is going to be one heck of a piece of equipment.

What I find interesting is that a while ago I remember reading on the DVInfo forums that they weren’t going to have a prototype ready to show at their booth, but just some marketing materials. However, it sounds like they may have something up their sleeves that will be worth making it a priority to visit their booth.
