Not sure what to make of this, but SanDisk is apparently going to get into the flash-based camcorder business by partnering to provide media for the new Grass Valley Infinity Series Digital Media Camcorders. The new tapeless digital camcorders will use SanDisk Extreme III High-Performance CompactFlash cards for recording.
Obviously workflow for these camcorders would be awesome, and the price for a SanDisk 8GB Extreme III CF card is around half that of an 8GB P2 card for a Panasonic. The new Infinity camcorder supports 1080i and 720p recording for under $20,000.
