SmartSound Software Inc. has unveiled Sonicfire Pro 4, the newest version of its popular automatic soundtrack creating software. Along with the new software, 10 new multi-layer music discs have been released as well. Called the “Strata” series, these discs allow the user to utilize SonicFire Pro 4’s new Mood Mapping feature.
Mood Mapping is a new feature that effectively lets the user match their soundtrack based on the mood of the video. So if little Timmy falls down the well again and Lassie comes to save him, Sonicfire Pro would allow you to identify a point where the music is suspenseful and also a point where the music is happy, and the software would automatically create a soundtrack. For the musically challenged, this is a perfect solution. CEO and president of SmartSound, Kevin Klinger, says this,
“Sonicfire Pro 4 with Mood Mapping marks a major breakthrough in how film and video professionals score their productions. It allows users to completely change the feel of their music scores without getting bogged down in a complicated process. This is the first time that this level of control over individual instrument layers has been available in a way that any film and video professional can quickly grasp and use.”
Sonicfire Pro 4 will start shipping April 24. A few different packages are available, the most basic of which is priced at $199 and includes Sonicfire Pro 4 software plus two Multi-Layer discs from the Strata series. On the high end, the mega bundle is $799 and includes the software along with all 10 multi-layer discs.
