If you’ve been waiting for Blu-ray burners wait no longer. The Panasonic LF-MB121JD Blu-Ray burner will be coming along shortly, as will the I-O DATA BRD-UM2 and BRD-AM2B Blu-Ray drives. Both will burn single and dual layer BD-R and BD-RE discs.
The Panasonic LF-MB121JD is an internal drive, and records data at 2x, or 72Mbps. Akihabara has more pics and even an HD video of the drive. If you have an itchy trigger finger you’re going to have to wait a little while, since it won’t be available until June 10. The price will be $850, so start saving, too.
In other news, it looks like Japan will see two Blu-Ray burners from I-O DATA even sooner than Panasonic’s. The BRD-UM2 and BRD-AM2B are internal and external Blu-Ray burners, respectively. They will be released June 1st for almost $950 and $1,050.
