If you’re like me, you have a toolkit/stockpile of useful gadgets like cables, screwdrivers, etc. that help you overcome those little computer emergencies that always arise. Well this is another item to add to that collection, the “USB Data Link Transfer Cable”.

Available from ThinkGeek, the aptly named cable does away with those annoying crossover cables and portable hard drives. Think easy, fast setup and a direct computer-to-computer connection. Just plug it in and go. The cable is USB 2.0, and transfers at up to 25 MB/s. One other nice thing is that it also supports USB 1.1 as well, if you’re trying to get stuff off your old computer.

Works on Windows 98SE through XP, and software is provided on the embedded chip. All you need is the cable. Available now for $19.99 through ThinkGeek.
