youtube.jpgHas it really only been a little over four months since YouTube’s inception? Amazing that in such a short amount of time a website could grow to dominate the video-sharing world. CNET has a great article regarding the buzz around YouTube and the company’s plans for future growth. Right now there are no ads on the site, and with 20 employees plus hosting costs that must be through the roof, it’s a wonder that YouTube has survived. There has been no word at all regarding YouTube’s business plan, and critics are wondering how the company will begin to make money. Julie Supan, YouTube spokeswoman, says,

We’re experimenting with different business models. It’s not going to be a traditional model, that is for sure. Right now, we don’t want to disrupt the user experience. But eventually, we’re going to introduce extremely relevant ads that will benefit users and won’t disrupt the service.”

Personally, I hit up YouTube when I’m bored and need a break, but don’t want to watch TV. You can find pretty much anything on YouTube, and best of all, it’s free.
