JVC has just announced the GZ-MG47 tapeless camcorder, an addition to their existing line of Everio digital camcorders. The GZ-MG47 features a 20GB hard drive and 15x optical zoom. Looks like this is an upgrade to the JVC GZ-MG40. The new GZ-MG47 also features a 1.2MP still mode, widescreen LCD, event search, and is compatible with the new JVC DVD burners built specifically for Everios.
Seems to me that JVC is going full out on these tapeless camcorders. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them drop their line of consumer MiniDV camcorders within the next couple years. The GZ-MG47 isn’t on JVC’s U.S. site just yet, but you can find it on their Japanese website if you are smart enough.
