mg505.JPGJust noticed that the recently announced JVC GZ-MG505 is available for pre-order on Amazon. JVC’s GZ-MG505 is the first ever 3 CCD HDD camcorder to enter the market. The interesting thing is that, although JVC has listed the MSRP as $1,300, Amazon has it priced at $1599 right now.

The GZ-MG505 is not set to be released until July 30th, anyway. This might just be a fluke in the pricing system, or Amazon may be trying to get a few early adopters who want to jump the gun. Well, this is your warning, it will get cheaper!

UPDATE: See, told you so! Back down to $1,299 on Amazon.

Actually JVC GZ-MG500 was the first 3CCD HDD to enter the market.

Digital Camcorder News Says:

I believe you are thinking of the JVC MC500, which is indeed 3CCD but uses removable media, not a built-in HDD (uses Microdrives)

I have its previous version GZ-MG500, which is also 3CCD with 5MP. Nice Cam, but without HDD. Now we have it with this new model GZ-MG505. Thanks to JVC for their continuous development on this sector. Sony is still behind but chasing JVC. But the price is still too high. I think JVC should consider price below US$1000.00.
