ez101.gifWell, I guess someone was bound to write a RCA EZ101 review one of these days, especially because of all the hype that is (for some strange reason) surrounding this little gadget. One thing I didn’t know before I read the CNET review is that the RCA EZ101 is just a re-branded Pure Digital Point and Shoot Camcorder. Aside from that you will find that the review is pretty predictable.

Video is so-so, on par with what you would get with a digital still camera. It also scratches very easily, so the put-it-in-my-pocket-and-forget-about-it factor is something to think twice about. Finally, anytime you use the 2x optical zoom it will result in an audible clicking sound on the video footage. A 30 second clip takes up about 1MB when emailed in case you were wondering.

I’ll leave you with CNET’s conclusion, which is great because it includes the word “idiot”:

While its video quality is only so-so, RCA’s Small Wonder EZ101 will appeal to technophobes looking for an idiotproof way to quickly send video e-mail clips to friends and family.
