Finally, two weeks after Toshiba’s HD-A1 HD DVD player showed up in Best Buy stores, Circuit City is getting into the act by offering the RCA HDV5000 for pre-order on their website. According to HDBeat, they both share the same internal components, which also explains why they look so much alike.
The RCA HDV5000 offers HDMI, 720p, 1080i, and will upconvert your standard DVDs as well. Nothing too crazy here. It’s not available in stores yet, and will not be shipping from the website until later this month. The price is $499.99.
