ccd.jpgIt appears that a company called Dalsa Semiconductor has created a CCD chip with more than 111 million pixels. CCD chips are used in everything from digital camcorders to cell phones to cameras, and, although this piece of news won’t likely effect the digital camcorder world anytime soon, I felt it was important enough in the grand scheme of things to point out. The 111 megapixel CCD chip is the first to break 100 megapixels. It is 4″ x 4″ across and has a resolution of 10,560 x 10,560 pixels.
