shake4.jpgApple has drastically slashed the price on its compositing software, Shake, which is used in conjunction with Final Cut Studio. The latest version, Shake 4.1, has some new features and is the universal binary version of the program, meaning it works on the new Intel-based Macs. The amazing price drop is from $2,999 to $499. Yes, $2,500 off!

Hopefully this will mean that Indies and students will be able to get in on the action. At the same time, Shake is a very hard program to use, and the learning curve may be too much for some. I would suggest downloading the 30-day trial version before anything else.
