firestore.jpgRecording video directly to hard drive is becoming all the rage lately, and now Focus Enhancements has created two new Firestore DTE devices designed specifically for the Canon XL H1. The FS-C HD60 and FS-C HD100 record onto 60GB and 100GB hard drives, respectively. At the full 1080i resolution, the FS-C HD60 can hold 4.5 hours of footage and the FS-C HD100 can hold up to 7.5 hours of footage. Both devices will be able to be directly mounted onto the Canon XL H1.

Direct to edit devices create dramatically more efficient workflows. Better yet, you can record onto the Firestore and onto tape simultaneously and have backups ready to go in case of an emergency. No price point has been set for these recorders, but you can expect to see them released in July.
