After one solid year using HDV, D.W. Leitner shares his thoughts at Digital Content Producer. The article is very much geared toward the field use of different camcorders, rather than toward the objective quality of the image. He has used HDV camcorders almost exclusively on full-length documentaries the past year.
The main HDV camcorders he writes about are the Sony FX1/Z1U and HVR-A1, JVC HD100, and, in passing, the Canon XL H1. A very informative article in that it does away with the objective, studio-based reviews and goes for more of the subjective, field-based comparison.
