The JVC GR-D395 is a middle-of-the-road MiniDV digital camcorder. It features a 1/6″ CCD, 32x optical zoom, and 2.5″ LCD screen. It is somewhat set apart by its 3-hour battery. CamcorderInfo’s review found the video quality “pale”, with greens to saturated and reds turning more pink than red. However, the image was sharp and generally noiseless. The huge zoom and extended life battery could make this a good digital camcorder for some, but there are many other choices.
