This is completely rumor for now, but the tireless users of DVInfo.net have picked up on the fact that Canon has just purchased a 24P license. The Canon XL H1 currently works in what is called 24F mode, which is another way of getting a progressive scan picture, but not the same as 24P. So does this mean that Canon has a new HD camcorder in the works? Perhaps we will see the Canon XL H2 being announced in the near future.
