Japan, home of so many great camcorders and so many crappy ones, too. Engadget picked up the trail of yet another of these doomed-to-become-paperweights in the Exemode DV308. Yes, that’s Exemode, the well known digital camcorder manufacturer.
Anyway, the Exemode DV308 records video to SD cards. It sports a 3.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, 8x digital zoom, and a 2.4 inch LCD screen. It comes with 32MB built-in memory, and is compatible with SD cards up to 2GB.
Video is recorded at 640×480 at 30fps. It looks like the MPEG-4 format is used to record video, but XviD is mentioned as well. The DV308 can also function as an MP3 player.
This camcorder will probably only be available in Japan, thankfully, but if you find yourself over there expect to pay about 19,800 yen, or around $171 U.S., for this beautiful piece of equipment.
