The new Intensity HDMI PCI Express card from Blackmagic is able to take straight-up HDMI input from any source. What does this mean? You could tether an HDV camcorder to your PC or Mac and actually record raw HD footage pre-HDV encoding. Now obviously this isn’t the ideal setup, but for only $249 who’s complaining?
