A few weeks back there were rumbling of a new HD tapeless digital camcorder, the JVC HD Everio. Now we know that the new HD Everio will feature 3 1/5″ CCDs employing pixel-shift technology to create a full-size 1920×1080 image. Also, the HD Everio camcorder will feature a Fujinon lense, generally found on high-end camcorders. I just hope this will actually give Sony something with which to compete. Oh, and there is still no word on the format in which video will be recorded.

UPDATE: Engadget is at CEATEC and has some pictures posted of the JVC HD Everio on display. Still no more new information besides the HDMI jack on the side (sweet!), although I’m sure we’ll find out more soon.

UPDATE 2: The HD Everio has finally been officially announced. Read more about at JVC GZ-HD7 HD Everio Camcorder
