Looks like the 2007 International CES will be honoring a yet-to-officially-exist camcorder. The Hitachi DZ-HS500A camcorder is listed on the page and is billed thusly:

The Hitachi DZHS500A hybrid camcorder is the world’s first DVD+HDD camcorder which records scenes and burns multiple DVDs using only the camcorder, without a PC or other DVD burning hardware.

This is obviously not the first hybrid camcorder we’ve seen, but perhaps this could be the U.S. version we have been waiting for.

Is this the US version of the DZ-HS500SW that I bought in Australia as “superseded” a few months ago? The picture is identical. I’m having a hassle to get Imagemixer 3 that came with it to recognise the Camcorder on Vista.
