Can’t say this is one of those reviews everyone has looked forward to, but for any of you in the market CNET has posted their JVC GZ-MG57 review. Basically it’s a revamped JVC GZ-MG50 with a smaller CCD and the same lackluster video quality. Small and easy to use, yes, but with some quirks and inefficiencies that made the reviewer recommend a completely different camcorder.

When it lacked competition, the JVC Everio GZ-MG57 might have merited a salutary recommendation. But in its price range, the Sony Handycam DCR-SR40 is really the better choice now.
