Camcorder manufacturers have not been paying much attention to their lines of MiniDV camcorders for this upcoming year, and JVC is no different with only three newly announced tape-based camcorders. The first camcorder, the JVC GR-D750, was previously announced in Japan and has now made its way to the U.S. It features a 680K, 1/6″ CCD sensor, 2.7″ widescreen LCD, and 34x optical zoom. Also included is a 135-minute battery. The GR-D750 will run around $250 and is the cheapest of the three.
Going up a model to the JVC GR-D770 adds an SD slot for recording still images, USB, and Photo Navigation Software. The GR-D770 will cost $280.
The top MiniDV model is the JVC GR-D796, which is identical to its little sibling but comes with two batteries instead of one. It will cost $350. There is no word on release dates, but you can expect to see them available soon.
