Matrox has announced an interesting, innovative product that might be useful for a few of you. The Matrox Extio F1220 will allow you to extend your entire workspace up to 820 feet from you workstation. This includes up to two displays, audio, two FireWire ports, and six USB devices. The thing that stands out for me is that the unit has no fans, which means you could edit in a completely sound-free environment. Of course, there’s always headphones.

The Matrox Extio F1220 will be available second quarter of 2007, and no pricing has been announced.
