It appears that Samsung is about to enter the HD camcorder game, but details are pretty sketchy. On January 7th, Samsung announced the SC-HMX10, an HD camcorder that recorded 1080i or 720p footage to 4GB of internal memory or SD card. It featured a 10x optical zoom, 2.7″ LCD screen, and a 1.5 megapixel sensor. I write in the past tense because it appears that Samsung has pulled this announcement completely, saying that it was a mistake to announce it and all specs are subject to change. See the blurb at CamcorderInfo here.

UPDATE: The Samsung SC-HMX10 has been officially announced and has some pretty interesting new features.
