If you watched the Super Bowl this past Sunday, you may have seen the Doritos commercial with the flirtatious checkout girl talking to the customer about his choices of Doritos chips. What you may not have known was that the commercial was a part of a contest put on by Doritos and was shot on a Panasonic AG-HVX200 camcorder. The spot was shot using two 8GB P2 cards and edited on Avid Media Composer 2.6 with Avid Mojo SDI. The DOP, James West, talked about his experience:
“With the HVX200, I was able to shoot commercial specs with great image quality at virtually no cost,” said West. “Given our extremely brief production window, I was pleased that it was so easy to move around with the small camera, work quickly and shoot such high-quality footage. It’s a terrific camera to own.”
