
Along with the announcement of the AG-HPX500, Panasonic has also announced new capacities for P2 cards as well as a standalone P2 player/recorder. In regards to the former, Panasonic has upped the capacity of P2 cards to 16GB from 8GB. The new cards will ship in May for a price that is yet to be announced. Panasonic also announced that it will double yet again the current P2 capacity to 32GB by the end of the year.
The Panasonic AG-HPG10 was also announced. The AG-HPG10 is a portable P2 player and recording unit weighing in at two pounds. It can run off of battery and features a 3.5″, 4:3 screen. With IEEE 1394 and USB 2.0 connectivity the AG-HPG10 will make a nice addition to your shooting kit. It will be available in August for $3995.
