If you are into creating short videos for either fun or profit, there has probably been a time where the budget for your shoot was either insanely low or absolutely zero. DMN has an article about just such a project. This one was called “TUESDAY” and was shot in HDV with the Sony FX1. The author, Mike Jones, talks about his experiences with both the camcorder (procured for free for “field testing;” brilliant…) and all the different aspects of zero-budget shooting from getting everyone to the right place at the same time to zero-budget lighting for HDV.
