Sandisk is poised to release an 8GB SDHC card, which will sell for a paltry $190. We already saw an 8GB SDHC card last September, but this one is from the reputable Sandisk. Gotta love CCInfo’s sarcastic title, “8 GB SD card unveiled, $189. P2, still $1,200.”

Panasonic, get your act together. Everyone is going to abandon the P2 format and just use the HVX200 with external storage if you don’t do something quickly.

I wouldn’t be too quick to say that Panasonic is going nowhere with P2, but perhaps CCInfo is onto something painfully obvious here.

No way I am going to waste thousands o fdollars on P2 memory cards at ridiculously inflated prices. reminds me of buyjg a cheap cellphone, and then gettign nscrewed for the data package!!

Does any one know iof anyone is making an adapter to be able to use sandisk or other memory cards in the HVX200.

For now I will continue to use my Firestore FS100 untill Panasonic realizes they are screwing themselves by keeping the prices on P2 memory absurdly high.

Anyone with cost effective memory solutions for HVX 200 (I am also using DV Rack connected directly via firewire to my computer)which works like a charm for studio work, please let me know.

Cheers
