Along with all the Apple announcements comes AJA’s Io HD, an external capture card for Macs. Apple’s new ProRes 422 codec is built into the unit for real-time 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding. Any up, down, and cross conversions can be done directly on the hardware in real time. Also, the new codec will allow users to edit 4K footage from the RED One camcorder, although not much more than that is known at this time. The AJA Io HD will cost $3495.
