CamcorderInfo takes a first look at a rather unique digital camcorder in their Panasonic AG-HSC1U First Impressions Review. The HSC1U is basically identical to the Panasonic HDC-SD1, but costs more than twice as much. The differences include color calibration that will closely match that of Panasonic’s professional camcorders. This will allow you to use the HSC1U as a backup camcorder without worrying about major color differences in post. The Panasonic AG-HSC1U also ships with a 40GB storage drive for offloading footage from the SD/SDHC cards used to capture footage on the camcorder itself.

I’m not so convinced that the Panasonic HDC-HSC1U will be worth twice as much as its little sibling, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
