Panasonic’s new AK-HC1800 camcorder records footage in native 1080i and seems built for use with pan-tilt systems or in situations where a bulky HD camcorder just won’t do the trick. At 3.3 pounds the AK-HC1800 sports three 2/3″, 2.2 megapixel CCDs. It will probably cost more than your car, but look for it to be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
