Sony has announced that on May 1st a free upgrade will be available for registered Vegas 7 users that will allow users to edit AVCHD. The Sony Vegas 7.0e update comes on the heels of four new AVCHD camcorders from Sony, the HDR-SR5 and HDR-SR7, HDR-SR8, and the HDR-CX7. In July, Sony will also update Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition 8 for support of AVCHD.
