Corel’s Ulead Videostudio 11 Plus will soon be released to the masses and will provide long-awaited AVCHD support. In contrast to Sony’s Vegas 7 update, Ulead Videostudio 11 Plus will support all current AVCHD camorders, not just the Sony lineup. The Plus version will also offer Apple iPod and Sony PSP support for encoding as well as HD DVD support. Ulead Videostudio Plus 11 will run you $129.99 while the Basic version with a lack of HD support will run you $89.99. Both are available on sale for pre-order at Amazon.com and will ship out on May 15th.

unable to import sony m2ts file in unlead videostudio plus trial…
i have the same problem with .m2ts, m2t (original from the camcorder)
What give with ULeads video studio 11? THe openign pade on the site says it supports AVCHD but the trial version I downloaded fails to recongzie the Sony m2ts file format. Has anyone purchased the full version and if so any luch opeing or editing m2ts files?
If Ulead requires a file foramt change you would think they wouldpost this so those if us atteping to test the software could actully us it to edit our vidoe files…
I have the full version UVS 11 Plus and it does not open .m2ts files. Every attempt returns a file format mismatch error message.
just tried the uvs 11 trial and it doesn’t let me open the .m2ts files. Has any of the posters above found a solution to the problem?
Cheers
Same problem - any news on a work around?
I think the trial version is UVS 11 not UVS 11 Plus. Compare the two trial versions on the website. Also, my trial version only says Ulead VideoStudio. Does anyone have a retail version of plus?
I have full version of UVS 11 Plus, but I can’t open m2ts files to edit.
tried UVS11+, it can not open .m2ts files from HG10 camcoder. Ulead profide false info, they claim they can edit avchd, but it is a lie
I have trial version of UVS 11 Plus, but I can’t open m2ts files from Panasonic HDC-SD1.
Conclussion: I will not buy the full version until someone says me that it works OK.
I have found the way to open the .m2ts files from my HDC-SD1:
Select the “Capture” tab at the top of the window.
Then select “Import from DVD/DVD-VR”. A new window will appear.
Select “Import DVD folder…”.
Then select the location where is your “HDWRITER” folder, which was created by “HD Writer” program (included with your camcorder).
Open this folder and subfolders until you see the one with the name “AVCHDL”, and highlight it. Then you can click the “OK” button and you can see and preview the clips from your hard disk drive.
Select the clip(s) you want to work with and then it will appear in the main window of VideoStudio.
It is simple when you know how to do it !!!
anybody knows where I can find HD WRITER in Italian or English? I just bought from Japan the new Panasonic HDC -SD7 and I can’t see video in my ulead too without this program…
I bought the update version of UVS-11 and it does directly import the M2ts files from my Canon Vixia HF 100. I used the Capture > “Import from mobile device” to do it once the USB connection from the camcorder to the PC was made. My problem is that the files run very erratically in the program making it impossible to edit them. Very jumpy play back, especially of the “Project” on the screen. Batch conversion with the program did not help, e.g. to .avi since most of the choices to convert to with the exception of MPEG are of inferior resolution, though they do run smoothly on the screen. I also have Pinnacle VS-11 plus in which the same M2ts files run quite smoothly. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Corel do offer a 30 day refund on their software however.
Having done some research on the this on the Corel forums I believe that the PowerPack is requried

This should then read the files. I admit to being disappointed at documentation and webpages; it is misleading.
