If any of you bought or are going to buy the Canon HV20 to use for Indie filmmaking you will definitely want to read an article over at DVXUser detailing how to manually control the exposure on this particular camcorder.

There are certain settings that make for the best “look” to use for your productions. The best combination seems to be a fixed 1/48 shutter speed, no gain, the CINE exposure system on, and the ability to control the iris. Impossible you say? Not quite.

The article is very thorough and, though the steps/hacks are somewhat different than what you may be used to, you can still make the most of your purchase.
