Panasonic just unveiled the HDC-SX5, a hybrid SDHC/DVD camcorder packed with features like three, 1/6″ CCDs and Optical Image Stabilization. The HDC-SX5 will be capable of recording 1920×1080 resolution video onto either SD/SDHC or 3″ MiniDVDs in the popular AVCHD format.

The fact that the Panasonic HDC-SX5 can copy recorded video from the memory card to DVD internally is what makes it a true hybrid camcorder. With the SX5 you can record all your footage to a higher-capacity SDHC card and then transfer it to DVD with the touch of a button.

The Panasonic HDC-SX5 features a 10x optical zoom with OIS and a 2.7″ widescreen LCD. Video can be output from HDMI, component, AV, and USB outputs.

The Panasonic HDC-SX5 will be available in September for a MSRP of $899.95. Amazon is also taking pre-orders.
