The gist of CCInfo’s Panasonic VDR-D310 review is that the VDR-D310 is essentially identical to its predecessor, the VDR-D300. The performance and features differ very, very little.

Low light performance on the Panasonic DVR-D310 was “wanting.” This is because of the 3 small CCDs versus other camcorders that have 1 larger CCD. However, for manual control the VDR-D310 takes the cake. It even has a microphone input.

The conclusion? For quality the Panasonic VDR-D310 is hard to beat, but it’s identical to its predecessor, so which to buy? The answer is to buy whichever you can find cheaper: the Panasonic VDR-D310 or VDR-D300. As of right now, the prices on Amazon.com are within $15 of each other.
